Experiment two "The Space Between": Final Submission

Architects: Alvar Aalto and Kengo Kuma

Electroliquid Aggregation
"An effective design student considers both the building and the surrounding landscape, in this way a balance between the natural and the man-made can be achieved. For design students this can be achieved through the use of textures and controlled light through low scale buildings to reinforce its subtlety and invisibility in nature."

Concepts
Alvar Aalto: Through the emulation of the exterior by controlled light, we can form a connection between the building and the natural environment.
Kengo Kumar: By altering the scale and orientation of a building we can create a form that is essentially an element of the landscape. This way, the environment impact is lessened.

Here, the use of controlled light symbolises the precision and obsessive-compulsive nature of design students as they aim at perfection.

The simplicity and rawness of the textures helps create a feeling of invisibility from the environment, while also providing a calming look

This monument is partially submerged into the water and embedded on the the rocky terrain. Furthermore the lengthy route to the meeting space reflects the long route of architecutural design students.
